What we Are?
As I am reading 7 Habits it is apparent why hanging on to this motivational book was a good idea. There is a section on my bookcases where books worth reading again are placed…and it's been sitting there a long time.
Note to self - Re-read some of those other books on there!
Stephen R Covey makes this statement:
- "In last analysis, what we are communicates far more eloquence than anything we say or do".
He also says:
- It is Character that communicates so eloquently.
Now while I agree with him it does make me wonder where that fits into cyberworld?
People don't know what we are. They only see what we say online, or perhaps experience what we do if we have occasion to help them. In this internet world of quick deals, one time buys and screen to screen relationships it is all too easy to come across the right way…and yet not be. Epecially given the power the written word has to sway us.
How do we show our 'true character' online? Is it the same as in everyday life?
Perhaps this is why so many people disappear. Why so many online deals go sour, just as in the real world. Why so many people fail at trying to 'make it online'. Many of us have been brought up in the "personality ethic' society, that we can't see any differently. They try to be what they think others want them to be. For acceptance or at worst..to manipulate and deceive.
Do you think people show their true character online?
Discussion about this and more is going on in the forums at the EAHLive.

I'm a big fan of this book and I'm glad to see that others like it too. Recently I came across this post http://www.wrike.com/blog/12/13/2007/Make_Wrike_a_part_of_your_7_habits_for_becoming_highly_effective and I think I'm going to try out the tool.
