A New Year!
Have you spent any time making resolutions over the past few days?
If you've made a resolution - have you planned how you are going to achieve it?
If you are like me in the past you have had great ideas, perhaps resolutions. After all there is something about this time of year that fosters them. And yet like most of the world, you find in as little as a week some of those ideals have gone by the way. Not for lack of trying - but more for lack of planning.
For instance 'healthier eating' Now how many of us go for this one, especially after all the festive eating and a glance at the scales? Next week you come across some leftover shortbread and chocolates. Of course they need to be eaten. Making the resolution was easy, but a plan (put into action) to get rid of all the wrong sorts of food before you start would have helped you get there.
Of course that is a simple example and not all ideals are that easy to plan.
Personally I don't like to make resolutions - setting myself up to fail, prefering to make plans that bring my dreams hopes and ideas into fruition. Some people call that goal setting. Call it what you like, the time spent doing this is far more profitable than a vague hope.
And why wait 12 months to do it again?
Take a day or two this week.
Write down your plans.
Then put them into action.
In three months - do it again. Yes! Three months. Mark your 'vision days' in your diary or on your calender now. Do it every three months.Treat it like New Years. Feel the begining all over again, and along with it that determination to make things happen that we feel at this time of year. Reacess what you have written down this week. See what worked, where you can improve and what else you need to do.
Helping others help themselves….
Sharyn! Who is off to help her kids with their vision plans!
