In the Office this Week.

You never know who might happen by the office…or should that be what??

First it started with a Crawdad, or what we in Australia call a Yabbie, in the pool. Didn't get a photo of that. :(

Then we were honoured with a visit from Mr Toad…not sure if he was "the" Toad of Toad Hall from Wind in the Willows fame….but he sure looked very dapper. He was also very obliging in posing for a photo shoot. These celebrities!

Don't You Just Love?

Don't you just love working from home?

The flexibility of the internet and the blessing of working from home were really impressed on me this week.

Not just by the fact that I can travel half way around the world and keep running my business but in where I can base my "office".

This week the view was early in the morning, watching the sun make its way above the horizon and the mist rising over the water. Sounds so romantic doesn't it.

In fact I was sitting by a swimming pool watching the children get back into their swim training.

Hey - whatever works for you right!

I like to make my time count and find the hours by the pool very useful. Either in catching up with mail, reading books or writing an article. Once I have the internet thing sorted I will be able to be online and may even send a post from there too.

In the meantime…here is the view from the office this week.

Newsletter of the Week - June 13 2008

Welcome to this weeks Newsletter

It's great to be in the United States. Sunny blue skies and tornado watch warnings are an exciting change from hot desert sands, grey overhead and schmaals (dusty sand storms).

If you want to make contact let me know. We will be traveling around a lot of States while here and may just be in one right near you. Perhaps we can chat over coffee somewhere and y'all can get to hear my Aussie accent trying to say Y'all.  :)

Car!

I now have a car and am feeling "freedom". It may not seem like much but when you come from a country that does not allow women to drive - well it is just undescribable. You can only imagine!

The jetlag may take a little while longer to wear off.

Now to hook up phones and internet connectivity! Apparently I can hook my laptop up so I can work while I am on the road. Shame they haven't figured out how to do it while I am driving instead of only while in the passenger seat.

Now that would be the ultimate in multitasking!

I'm Here!

Yes, In America!

Jetlagged, tired and happy to be able to stretch out and sleep. They say there is no place like home, but truthfully there is no place like a real bed.

My next job is to purchase a car and get myself settled.

Seeing friends is always good and being here for a couple of months will allow us to catch up with old ones, meet online friends and make new ones.

Going Away

Going AWOL for a few days.

Flying to Jeddah for the better part of a week to attend  and watch my children compete in the National Swimming Championships.

I'll be back for enough time to get the bags unpacked, wash, iron and then repack the suitcases in preparation for our summer trip to America.

Keep on Keepin on - and we'll be back soon with a newsletter and updates on where we are and what we are up to.

Strawberry Picking: A Kristi Kreme Post.

krisitkremeimage.jpg

Wow, am I tired today! Yesterday I went strawberry picking with my mom, sister-in-law and my four nieces. It was a wonderful time with family, enjoying the beautiful outdoors. We picked 22 gallon buckets of strawberries.

When picking strawberries, you have to be very careful how you pick them. If you just grab the berry and pull, you usually end up with the berry missing its little leafy cap. A strawberry loses its sweet flavor quicker without its little ‘cap’.

If you pull without holding on to the stem, you sometimes end up with the berry and the stem with leaves attached and possibly little green berries. You definitely don’t want to do this. The plant needs a chance to continue growing and producing.

Sometimes life is like this. We have to be very careful when picking; whether it’s picking friends, picking jobs and careers, choosing how to spend our time.

We don’t want to be too harsh or quick, or we may end up choosing unwisely and suffering the consequences. We can also pick or choose too much and get over-worked and burned out.

The best course of action to take when picking or choosing the important things in life is to stop and pray first. Wait on God to give you His answer. Trust Him to talk to you. Know that He wants what’s best for us. All we have to do is ask Him and allow Him to have input in our life’s decisions.
